Valentine’s Day is around the corner so I decided to put together a list of some restaurants that are the perfect place to spend your romantic day.
This list contains Italian restaurants and steakhouses, which are the two types of restaurants I frequent the most. I hope you guys enjoy my recommendations and if you want additional details / more pics from these restaurants, follow me on my Instagram @eat_travel_andlove! I post everyday about the best spots in NYC as well as what the rest of the world has to offer 🙂
L’artusi, opened in 2008, is a modern Italian restaurant located in the West Village that really surprised me with its delicious, contemporary dishes. The atmosphere is very “chic”, with good music, dim lighting and a beautiful decor. The food is INCREDIBLE - one of the best meals I can remember! If you go, make sure to get the roasted mushroom with pancetta, fried egg, chilies and ricotta salata as an appetizer, it’s to DIE FOR (you can thank me later). There are a variety of pasta options, and the two that we tried were also amazing. To finish your exceptional meal, order the Olive Oil cake as a dessert and enjoy!

212 is an upscale steakhouse in the Midtown East, which serves up authentic Kobe, Wagyu and prime beef (only 1 of a handful of restaurants in the US, and the only in New York, that serve authentic Kobe beef). The place is beautiful and classy; the menu has the usual steak options, as well as a variety of seafood options and delicious side dishes.
The Kobe tasting is the way to go if you’re willing to spend some money. It includes Kobe beef Ribeye, Striploin and Tenderloin. This trio was definitely the best steak I’ve ever had. It’s so tender and tasty, it’s hard to explain in words. The only thing I can tell you is: It’s worth it every penny!
If you don’t want to spend that much on steak, they have some good USDA Prime and Australian Wagyu options that are a great value.

Lilia is a modern Italian restaurant in Williamsburg that was actually converted from an old car garage (although much nicer inside now!). My favorite pasta there is the sheep cheese Agnolotti with honey and dried tomatoes. The Mafaldini with pink peppercorn is also a hit there. Don’t forget to finish your meal with the amazing dessert called the Italian Job, which is vanilla soft serve with olive oil and sea salt. Thank me later!

A classic in NYC! Quality Italian is famous for its chicken parm in the shape of a pizza. The spicy honey that comes with it creates a delicious combo, trust me! They also offer the classic Italian dishes and a variety of pasta options. The eggplant polpette appetizer is a MUST!

4 Charles Prime Rib
The BEST burger I’ve ever had in my life! This restaurant (if you want to call it that) is simply AMAZING! The ambience is awesome, a very dark and intimate vibe, with great music and excellent service. The chef, Brandan Sadikoff, is already famous for Au Cheval in Chicago – which won best burger in America one year.
Besides the burger (which they have a white glove service to cut it in half), I also tried the Chicago cut prime rib with creamed spinach. It’s a lot of food, but was worth it. I didn’t have dessert because their famous lime pie was sold out. If you want to make a reservation to this place, go to RESY and choose the “notify me” option since there likely won’t be any upcoming dates available, although you might get lucky.
