Disney is one of my favorite places in the word, and since I have close friends (almost family) living in Orlando, my goal is to visit them and Disney every year!
When I went to Disney for the very first time back in 2017, I really wanted to try the famous breakfast at Chef Mickey’s restaurant, located at the Contemporary hotel in the Disney complex. This is one of the most famous restaurants at Disney, so it can be difficult to get a reservation there. So instead, this time around we ate at the Crystal Palace inside Magic Kingdom which was super nice as well. Check out the details about the breakfast here: BREAKFAST AT MAGIC KINGDOM
Believe or not, my friend got a reservation at Chef Mickey’s two days before the day we were supposed to go. Want to know how? If you try to book any reservation or FastPass through the app Disney World, you have to play around with the time. If there’s nothing available at the date/time you want, keep changing the time until you find something. For example, if you want to eat at 9am and there’s nothing open, try 12pm, then 3pm, etc. until an opening appears. This worked for the restaurant and to get us the FastPass at famous attractions like the Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom.
Now let’s talk about the most magical meal of my life! Honestly, you don’t go there for the food, it’s a “fancy” standard buffet with a carving station, eggs benedict and the classic, Mickey/Minnie waffles.
The best moment is when the characters show up playing, dancing and taking pictures with everyone. The best part is NO LINES for pictures - they show up at every table to interact with everyone, there’s no rushing and they are really nice to everyone (I’ve been to some parks where the characters don’t have the best “attitude” lol).
The cost of this magical meal including juice/tea/coffee (alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks are not included) is $60 per person. If you’re an annual pass holder you get a good 20% discount.
Is it pricey? YES! Is it worth it? OH HELL YES! I’m a grown woman and felt like I was a child again - extremely happy and emotional, I can’t imagine how this must be for a child to visit… it must be just MAGICAL.
